Le Grande Picnique Friday 7th July

posted 3 Jul 2017, 12:49 by Karen Maggs

MONMOUTHSHIRE residents are celebrating the 950th anniversary of their town.

Chepstow, its castle and priory, were founded in 1067 by the Norman conquerors, less than a year after the Battle of Hastings.

As 2017 marks the 950th year, the town council and residents in Chepstow are getting ready to celebrate and are planning Le Grande Picnique on Friday 7th July.  All of KS2 pupils from Offa's Mead Academy will be walking to the Castle to join in the celebration.  Uniform to be worn and a packed lunch required.
