Aladdin Pantomime Thursday 7th December

posted 16 Nov 2017, 03:16 by Karen Maggs

A TRADITIONAL FUN FAMILY PANTOMIME! Thursday 7th December

We have booked for the whole Academy to attend the Pantomime ‘Aladdin’ at the Riverfront Theatre in Newport on Thursday 7th December.  The coach will leave at approximately 9.45am and return to school for approximately 3pm, in time for children to catch the school bus home. Small groups of children will be supervised on the coach and in the theatre, by adults, most of which are academy staff.

Children will require a packed lunch. Our catering staff will provide a packed lunch if you want. It will cost the same price as a school dinner and can be paid for on www.parentpay.com as normal.  KS1 pupils do not need to pay for a packed lunch. All packed lunches need to be booked in advance.

Below is a breakdown of the cost of the tripEntrance to the Theatre is £8.50 per child; the cost of transport is £6.60 per child and therefore the total cost per child should be £15.30.However, we understand this is a lot of money at this time of the year so the Academy, with a significant donation from FOOMA, will subsidise the cost per child for this trip.

Therefore, we are asking for £10 per child for the trip to go ahead.

This is a voluntary contribution, however if not enough voluntary contributions are received the trip will regrettably be cancelled.

Below is some information from The Riverfront Theatre regarding the panto

A whole host of colourful characters join Aladdin in his story as he struggles to see that good is rewarded and that bad is punished. There's wicked Abanazar who tells everyone that he is the long lost brother of Widow Twankey's late departed brother Dafydd. There's the beautiful Princess Jasmine and her slightly domineering mother, the Empress Double Chinn. And at Suds-U-Like poor old Widow Twankey and Wishee Washee must wash a mountain of smalls for the Royal Wedding.
Full of song, dance, drama and spectacle, this year's panto at The Riverfront offers two hours in the company of some of the greatest characters in the world of pantomime fighting the good fight in some of the most exotic places.
