Parents Evening Meetings 5th & 6th December

Parents meetings will be held on Wednesday 5th December from 3:30pm - 6:00pm at school and on Thursday 6th December 3:30pm - 6:00pm at The Coffee Pot at Beachley Barracks. A creche will be available at the Barracks. Please book your appointments as soon as possible.

Meet Santa  - Tea & cakes  - Stalls  - Tombola & A Fantastic Raffle
3pm - 5pm all welcome 

 We are looking for donations of soft toys (Teddy bears etc.), raffle prizes,

tins & bottles for the tombola and cakes for the cake stall

K1 pupils will be performing their Christmas play on Thursday 13th December at 1:30pm. KS2 will be performing their Christmas concert on Friday 14th December at 1:30pm. Please come and join us.

Rotary Shoe Box Appeal

This year we are taking part in the Chepstow Rotary Shoebox Scheme.  Donated items are sent in shoe boxes to poorer people in Eastern Europe.  Please return by 5th December 2018.

Please send in your items and Year 6 will pack them at school.

 

If you would like your own box, please request one from the Office.

Boxes can be filled with:

·         Babies 0 - 3

Baby clothes, small soft toys, rattle, teething toys, cot blanket, shawl, hats, baby shampoo, baby lotion.

·         Small children 3 - 5

Soft toys, plastic toys, toy cars, picture books, colouring books, pens, pencils, hats, scarves gloves, T-shirts, balls, vests, socks

·         Primary school children 6 - 11

Toys, toy vehicles, colouring books, picture books, notebooks, pens, pencils, hats, gloves, scarves, hair slides, hair bands, T-shirts, tops, vests, socks, pencil cases. Games - no batteries.

·         Teenagers 12 - 18

Baseball, tennis ball, T-shirts, tops, football/rugby shirts, hats, gloves, scarves, pens pencils, toiletries, shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush, toothpaste, hair ornaments, underclothes, card games, other games which don’t need batteries

·         Adults

Shirts, tops, hats, gloves, scarves, toiletries, pens, pencils, notebooks, washing powder, face cloths, hand towels, toothbrush, toothpaste.

This list is by no means exhaustive. You may be able to think of many other things!

Items don’t have to be new, but must be in good condition

NO food or sweets. No political material. No toy guns.

There is also a request for a £1 or £2 donation towards the cost of fuel


Experience Christmas at The Baptist Church Chepstow

KS2 pupils at Offa’s Mead Academy have been invited to attend the ‘Experience Christmas’ event at The Baptist Church in Chepstow. This trip will be during school time and the children will be walking to and from the Church accompanied by their class teacher and other staff and adults.

 

  • Friday 30th November – Y6
  • Thursday 6th December – Y3
  • Monday 10th December - Y4
  • Wednesday 12th December – Y4/5

 

 

Please ensure your child is in uniform but if you wish to send them in with another pair of shoes that are more comfortable for walking then please do so, also a warm/waterproof coat, gloves, hat and scarf

 

KS1 will have the opportunity to ‘Experience Christmas’ on Monday 3rd December in the school hall when church members will visit the school.

 


Christmas Panto Sleeping Beauty Tuesday 18th December

The whole Academy are going to the Riverfront Theatre on Tuesday 18th December to see Sleeping Beauty. The children will be leaving school at 9.30am and returning before 3pm. Please make sure you have filled in your permission slip and returned to the office. The cost of the trip including the coach is £10 each.

Pyjama & film Night Friday 7th December

The Polar Express

      Pyjama Party

    7th December 2018   3.15pm – 5.15pm

       £2.00 per child

 (to be pre paid before the event)

       All aboard the Polar Express!

 

We will watch the film whilst drinking hot chocolate and eating yummy cookies and toast. Each child will receive a bell to ring.
