We are asking for every boy to bring in a savoury item (sausage roll / crisps) and every girl to bring in something sweet (cake or biscuit).  We will provide squash for everyone. The children have been making bunting, decorations and crowns to wear to celebrate this event.

SATS Year 6 w/c Monday 14th May 2018

                     14TH MAY - YEAR 6

As you are no doubt aware Year 6 will be sitting their SATS in a couple of weeks’ time

There will be a Year 6 Breakfast club running from Monday 14th May to Friday 18th May from 8:15am

Normal breakfast club will not be affected and will run as usual from 8:00am

The benefits of having breakfast to improve ‘brain power’ has been studied and well documented.  Below are some of the findings

Breakfast improves academic performance and diet

Kids who fuel up in the morning with a breakfast before heading off to school gain many benefits, both mental and physical. These benefits not only last throughout the school day, but also can contribute to overall health and school performance over the long term.

Breakfast helps improve mental performance and concentration during morning activities. Children who skip breakfast will be more sluggish, less attentive, and have less energy to carry out their morning tasks. Teachers observe that children who come to school hungry experience more learning difficulties compared to well nourished children. Studies show that breakfast eaters perform much better in their school work and show extra energy in sports and other physical activities. Besides assuring optimal development and growth, positive effects on alertness, attention, performance on standardised achievement tests, and other skills important for academic success are enhanced for those who eat breakfast on a daily basis.
