St David's Day - Dydd Gwyl Dewi

St David's Day - Dydd Gwyl Dewi

To celebrate St Daivd's day we had a 'Wear it Welsh' day.

We learnt how to say good morning and good afternoon in Welsh.

Y5/6 also learnt commands, instructions and requests like asking to go to the toilet. We did our registers in Welsh and even sang Happy Birthday during Celebration Assembly.

Can you translate this Welsh question spotted in Miss Ramsey's room?

Miss Davies told us the story of St David in Assembly earlier in the week.

Reception learned how to say good morning to Paddington in Welsh.  They can say: “Bore da Paddington”,   Paddington also learned to say his name in Welsh:  “Paddington ydw i.”

They made a story map and created a story about ‘An Enormous Leek.’

A good day had by all.

Thank you to all Parents/ Carers who supported the Academy by providing a wide range of costumes for the children!

We are now looking forward to St George's Day on April 23rd!

Can you guess who this famous Welsh band member is?
