The Equality Act 2010 (which replaced most of the Disability Discrimination Act) aims to protect people with disabilities and prevent disability discrimination. Under this Act all schools are expected to meet the needs of children with disabilities, making any necessary reasonable adjustment, in relation to building and facility accessibility and all new school buildings/expansions must comply with access regulations.
